9/11 Al Queda Links
On 9/11, leaders of the LIWA Initiative who were also working in the Able Danger Program, frantically reached out to Curt and asked to meet immediately. Curt met the LIWA/Able Danger Leaders and they rolled out these two Charts showing linkages to Bin Laden and the Al Queda Cells involved in planning and executing 9/11. This Chart actually shows the connections to three of the lead 9/11 terrorists (including Mohammed Atta) who had been identified by the Able Danger Team in 1999 and 2000. In three separate meetings with three Able Danger Team members, all of whom were career US Intel Operatives and Analysts, the same story was related to Curt. Able Danger had identified the 9/11 terrorists in advance of the attacks and had tried (on three separate occasions) to transfer the information regarding Atta and his associates to the FBI in NYC but were rebuffed immediately prior to scheduled briefings with the FBI. Philpott went further to express personal outrage as a career Naval Officer that the same team had similar information regarding an impending attack on a US asset in the Port of Ayden, Yemen, two weeks prior to the attack on the USS Cole on October 12, 2000 that killed 17 sailors and injured 39 others. The emotional statement of the Naval Academy Graduate to Curt included “This is not the f—— nation that I swore to uphold and defend”!
